Apple posted its best second quarter ever last week. It is officially the world’s most valuable company and they are not about to let the position go.
What’s driving the success? Phones.
More and more people are buying multiple phones. Sure, the seductive Iphone ads could play a part in that but the changing culture could also be playing a part in it.
More and more people are finding the advantages of working from home. And it’s not just the employees but also the employers. Realizing that they could get the same amount of productivity from their employees, business owners don’t see the need for a big physical office.
Apple is enjoying this transition and I believe will continue to do so in the years to come.
They reported revenue of $81 billion for the quarter ending June 30, surpassing average analyst expectations of $73 billion and coming in 35% higher than the nearly $60 billion it posted one year ago.
Yes, they surpassed their last year’s record by more than $20 billion.
And this is while Apple, like the rest of the world, is suffering from a global chip shortage. If chips were available, imagine just how much they could have earned.
What’s the take away?
Two things:
Technology, specifically those related to communications and electronics is the way to go. For the first time, we are actually seeing the benefits of electronic devices in the corporate world. This is a game changer and you should look into it as an investment. Talk to your financial advisor, do your own research. Apple is just one of the many companies you can invest in.
Next, look at all the raw materials used to making electronic devices. Those will be in demand too. Invest in them.
You will, for sure, come across silver and gold. Those are two major components of an electronic device. And the best part? We don’t have enough of it. Apple is competing with renewable energy for silver and with the medical industry among other industries for gold.
