With valuations at current levels, U.S. stocks are poised to be the worst performing asset class over the next 10 years, according to fund manager Rob Arnott, founder and chairman of the board of Research Affiliates.
Arnott, nicknamed the “Godfather of Smart Beta”, is a pioneer in developing smart-beta index funds. His asset management firm, Research Affiliates, has $175 billion in assets under management and uses in-house smart-beta and asset allocation techniques to manage a portfolio diversified across geographies and asset classes.
Arnott told Michelle Makori, editor-in-chief of Kitco News, that U.S. stocks are unlikely to even outperform inflation over the next ten years.
