On April 5th, 1933 FDR signed Executive Order 6102 which effectively made it illegal to own gold in the USA. All citizens were required to turn their gold in under penalty of massive fines or jail. Gold was illegal to own until the mid 70s. This gold confiscation act could take place again. Will the government try to confiscate the gold again? Does the government have any reason to confiscate the gold today?
