Maintaining good environmental and social practices build resilience for a company seeking to build and operate a mine, said the CEO of Integra Gold, George Salamis.
Salamis spoke to Kitco on Tuesday. Integra Gold is developing its DeLamar gold-silver project in Idaho, U.S.A.
“You shouldn’t be viewing ESG as a, as a cost in the end of the day, it’s really an opportunity,” said Salamis. “I really believe that a company that goes above and beyond on behalf of the community surrounding these mining operations…makes the company much more resilient when it comes time to actually start building and operating.”
